On the IT side, administrators will now find it easier to deploy and manage large installations of Vista and its accompanying Windows Server 2008.

Prerequisites will be simple for most: your version of Windows Server 2008 or Vista must have SP1 installed. Note if you're updating through Windows Update/WSUS, a separate update to the servicing stack must first be installed -- this handles installation and removal of software updates and other features, and is necessary to successfully install and uninstall the new pack, and with maximum performance and reliability. Lastly, if you're making use of the vLite utility for the move, you may get an error.

If receiving through Windows Update, which downloads only the changed data, you're looking at a 43 MB file set; those going for the standalone set will be at 302 or 390 MB (five or seven languages) on x86 systems, and 508 or 622 MB (five or 36 languages) on x64s

Upon successful installation it is strongly advised to run the Service Pack Clean-up tool -- just run command prompt and enter compcln.exe.

For the list of highlighted changes and improvements, hit up the source below where you can also find a link to the full list of hotfixes and security updates. For a quick list, though, have this: removal of half open outbound TCP connections limit, ability to record to Blu-ray disc, and 'improved' content protection for TV in Windows Media Center.

Enjoy!

Source

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-66416628585229275972009-05-22T07:32:00.003+07:002009-05-22T07:37:38.086+07:00"Cool Isn't"... With the push of a button will make this remote control becomes rigid and ready for use. When it's not in use, this concept remote control just short of lays there lim, pulsating with light. But when you touch it, the remote gets excited and become rigid. Constructed of a soft, flesh-like gel, the remote appears cold when off. Once turned on, however, it seems to come to life. A soft light emanates somewhere from within as the center of the device begins to slowly rise and fall, mimicking the tranquil motions of breath. Left undisturbed, the remote will slumber peacefully. Buth should a human hand approach, sensors inside alert it to the imminent touch. It stops breathing, grows rigid – the light from within is extinguished. Thanks

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-63175849311926939872009-01-12T12:01:00.002+07:002009-01-12T12:03:56.357+07:00Chumby Modified To Fit Fish Tank
Bruno Fosi has gotten creative by using his Chumby to fit into a goldfish tank that is networked with other Chumby devices. Sensors on a robot will monitor the current water conditions and send a report right at you so that you will be able to take immediate action as and where required. Since the device itself is wireless, you will be able to feed your fish or dispense medicine without too much trouble, making long vacations possible without the need for a neighbor to constantly check up on the condition of your fish. Too bad it can't change the water though. Clever use of the Chumby's accelerometer, compression sensors and microphone will enable real-time online interaction with your friends’ fish, although fish are generally not the most responsive pets in the world.

Thanks
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-44476957946128959262009-01-12T11:15:00.005+07:002009-01-12T11:25:19.750+07:00Five Strategies to Back Up Your Data
Every year you say you'll be better at keeping your data backed up, but then life happens. You get busy. You get distracted. And the number of files in your digital life grows exponentially--all while you continue to relegate this critical task to the "I'll get to it" pile.
Sound familiar? Thought so. Backup is essential, yet most people neglect it, despite adding ever more files to their digital stockpiles. According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the average U.S. adult with online access has an average of 1800 digital files. And growing.

We've found the tech that can help you get a handle on your backups--and help you stick to a plan. You'll find many options that lead to the same result. Part of your challenge is picking the ones that are best for you.

1. Devise a Backup Plan of Attack

Survey your backup needs, and think about what you have that is "live" data--your ongoing, working library of files--versus what is archival data, files that don't require changes or additions. Live data might include your collection of digital music and your business documents, while archival data might include your digital photos from the past five years. Think about whether you want all of your data to reside in a single place, or whether you want to spread your backups across multiple devices. Also consider your habits: Do you need prompting to back up, or do you want to invoke a backup at will?

Having evaluated your files and needs, you can better decide on a backup strategy--and on which combination of technologies makes sense for you. You'll likely settle on a strategy that encompasses various devices and services, selected from among USB flash drives, external hard drives (see our latest Top 10 External Hard Drives chart or peek at the newest portable external hard drives), network-attached storage (see our most recent Top 5 Network-Attached Storage Devices chart), and online backup.

Many hardware devices now include a backup utility as a matter of course; but whether you'll find that backup utility (be it a separate application or one that's integrated with the drive) useful will depend in part on the backup approach you've chosen. Do you want to back up all of your files? Or are you aiming to do larger, more-current sets while leaving the file archive to reside on a NAS or on a dedicated 1TB hard drive attached to your system?

In steps two through five, we'll identify some of the best technologies for helping you with your backups--and what situations and needs those technologies are most suited for.

2. Organize Your Files

Various software programs--including the traditional backup programs we rounded up recently, such as NovaStor NovaBackup Professional, EMC Retrospect Backup, and NTI Backup 5 Advanced--will find specific file types on your hard drive and back up those file types per your instructions. But it helps to devise an organized structure for the files on your hard drive; that way, you know exactly where to begin when you establish a backup routine in the aforementioned software, or if you ever do a quick-and-dirty manual backup (in which you simply drag and drop files from one drive to another within Windows Explorer).

3. Try Set-It-and-Forget-It Backup

Let's be blunt: Sometimes, deciding on what to back up, and where, makes the process overwhelming. And though acknowledging that fact doesn't negate the need for steps one and two described on the previous page, occasionally you want everything you own to be saved, with no brain activity required to get the process going.

A handful of devices make jump-starting your system backups dead simple. Among the most notable faces in the crowd is the Clickfree Portable Backup Storage Appliance, which makes backup supereasy. Connect this $180, 320GB USB drive (also available in 120GB and 250GB capacities, with up to 500GB coming sometime in 2009) to your Windows-based PC, and it will back up your data files, including your music, movies, pictures, and e-mail. The drive's built-in backup software kicks in as soon as you attach the drive to your PC; the software supports up to 350 file types. You can configure some basics, or just let the drive do everything--your choice. The drive can safeguard up to 20 PCs, and it does its backups incrementally (meaning that it does a full backup the first time, and then on subsequent occasions finds the new files and backs those up). Restoration is simply a matter of pressing the Restore button; the drive's built-in software will then return data to its original location.

If you have only enough data to fill a DVD or three, Clickfree sells DVD discs with the same backup software loaded. And the HP SimpleSave Photo utility uses an HP-branded version of the software for its discs.

Rebit Disk Drive Backup is even simpler to use. Just plug in the drive (available in capacities up to 500GB for $220), give the built-in software permission to back up, and off it goes, continually protecting you in the background. By the end of January, the drive's software will get an update that supports managing backups for up to six PCs to a single drive (a good setup for people backing up smaller sets of data, but not for users who have multiple PCs packed with multimedia collections). The company also now offers its easy-to-use software on CD, for use with any external hard drive; the CD costs $50 at its Web site.

Memeo's Autobackup software and NTI's Shadow are competing stand-alone applications that you can buy for real-time file backup; they can require more intervention on your part, however, than either Clickfree (which is not real-time backup) or Rebit (which is real-time, much like the Apple Time Capsule for Mac OS computers).

4. Use a Flash Drive

USB flash drives are ubiquitous, but nowadays 4GB is a baseline capacity, not the high end. And larger capacities--16GB, 32GB, and greater--are becoming more commonplace.

The benefits to using a flash drive can be multifold. You can store your files--perhaps both your critical documents and your multimedia files--on a drive the size of your index finger, and you can keep your data close to you, in your pocket or on a keychain. Many drives offer software encryption and password protection; still more include a file-synchronization utility. The SanDisk Cruzer Titanium Plus goes one step further by letting you sync the drive with Web-based storage.

SanDisk is going all out, however, with its newest offering (announced this week at CES), the SanDisk UltraBackup USB Flash Drive. The drive is expected in April, in capacities of 8GB to 64GB ($40 to $200). It has a retractable USB connector that slides inside, so you needn't worry about caps (or cables, as you would with an external hard drive). The integrated software requires no installation; instead, it just asks you for the file types you want to back up, and it initiates a backup when you plug the drive in; a button on the unit lets you launch a backup, too.

5. Send Data to an Online Backup Service
Online backup makes sense in some circumstances but not others. Certainly, Web-based services (such as the Webroot Secure Backup service) provide off-site redundant storage that can keep your data safe against natural and unexpected disasters (such as flooding, earthquakes, or fire). But online backup may not be appropriate if your data measures into the tens of gigabytes, or even terabytes (yes, snap-happy digital photographers and devoted music gurus, I'm looking at you). Content creators with high-capacity needs may prefer to keep their files on NAS drives and hard drives locally (or on drives located at secondary sites) rather than deal with the ongoing fees of Web-based backup.
That said, many sites offer some free online backup, as much as 2GB (Mozy.com and Fabrik.com, for example). Two gigs can go a long way for basic Word and Excel documents, PDF files, and PowerPoint presentations (the ones light on multimedia, at least). For your files currently in play, online backup can be both convenient (get it anywhere you find a Wi-Fi connection), and economical.

It's all about strategy--and what type of data you need to protect. Feel free to comment below, or visit the PC World Forums, to tell us about your approach to backing up.

ThanksUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-46498193441310836942009-01-06T14:54:00.004+07:002009-01-06T15:00:48.680+07:00Palm-Sized Presentations "Nextar Z10"

Seems like everyone is getting on the micro projector bandwagon. First, format the drive so that it can be used on the PC. To do so, plug the hard drive into the Mac, launch Disk Utility (found in the Utilities folder), select the drive in the left pane of the Disk Utility window, click the Erase tab, from the Volume Format pop-up menu choose MS-DOS (FAT), and click Erase. (And yes, this will erase all the data on the drive so be sure there’s nothing on that drive you want.) With the drive formatted for Windows, unmount it from the Mac, plug it into the PC, and copy the files you want from the PC to the hard drive. Unmount, drag it back to the Mac, plug it in, copy from hard drive to Mac, done.

This is a fine solution if you know where to find all the files on the PC and have the patience to archive email message, export bookmarks (termed Favorites in Internet Explorer), and sift through this corner or that to ensure you have all the files you need before setting fire to the PC.

If you’re without an external drive you can create a quick-and-dirty network between the two computers by stringing an Ethernet cable between them, switching on file sharing, and copying the files from Computer A to Computer B. Doing so requires that you know something about file sharing on both platforms (online help on each computer will explain how) and, again, you’ll need to know where to find the files you’re after.

A less-free-to-the-tune-of-$50 option is Belkin’s $50 Switch-To-Mac Cable. This is the solution I used because I had one and wanted to see how it worked. I’m pleased to say that it was a breeze. The gist is this:

You install Belkin's software on both the Mac and Windows PC (OS X 10.4 or later and Windows XP or Vista required). For the most part, the Mac software does the work. There you tell the application the kinds of files you want to copy from the PC to the Mac. You can choose music, photos, email, contacts, calendars, documents, wallpaper, and Internet Explorer Favorites as well as the contents of the PC’s Desktop and the contents of a folder you’ve chosen. Once you’ve set up the software, string the included cable between USB ports on each computer (transfer will happen more quickly over a USB 2.0 port on each computer but it works with USB 1.0 on a PC too). Then tell the Mac version of the application to work its magic and it does so by copying files from the PC to the Mac.

It doesn’t just fling files into a folder on your Mac but rather files them where they should be. Your Desktop files, for example, appear on the Desktop of your Mac in a folder labeled with the name of your PC. Music files are moved directly into iTunes. Photos are copied to iPhoto. Favorites become bookmarks in Safari. Outlook mail is shuttled to Apple’s Mail just as Outlook’s calendars appear in iCal and addresses show up in Address Book.

For a one-time job I can see how this $50 solution might be a little off-putting but, Great Googly Moogly, it is slick and easy. Were I required to do this thing more than a handful of times, I’d consider it money well spent. How do you keep your battery going for as long as possible? Here are 15 easy ways to do so.
1. Defrag regularly - The faster your hard drive does its work - less demand you are going to put on the hard drive and your battery. Make your hard drive as efficient as possible by defragging it regularly. (but not while it’s on battery of course!) Mac OSX is better built to handle fragmentation so it may not be very applicable for Apple systems.

2. Dim your screen - Most laptops come with the ability to dim your laptop screen. Some even come with ways to modify CPU and cooling performance. Cut them down to the lowest level you can tolerate to squeeze out some extra battery juice.

3. Cut down on programs running in the background. Itunes, Desktop Search, etc. All these add to the CPU load and cut down battery life. Shut down everything that isn’t crucial when you’re on battery.

4. Cut down external devices - USB devices (including your mouse) & WiFi drain down your laptop battery. Remove or shut them down when not in use. It goes without saying that charging other devices (like your iPod) with your laptop when on battery is a surefire way of quickly wiping out the charge on your laptop battery.

5. Add more RAM - This will allow you to process more with the memory your laptop has, rather than relying on virtual memory. Virtual memory results in hard drive use, and is much less power efficient. Note that adding more RAM will consume more energy, so this is most applicable if you do need to run memory intensive programs which actually require heavy usage of virtual memory.

6. Run off a hard drive rather than CD/DVD - As power consuming as hard drives are, CD and DVD drives are worse. Even having one in the drive can be power consuming. They spin, taking power, even when they?re not actively being used. Wherever possible, try to run on virtual drives using programs like Alcohol 120% rather than optical ones.

7. Keep the battery contacts clean. Clean your battery’s metal contacts every couple of months with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. This keeps the transfer of power from your battery more efficient.

8. Take care of your battery - Exercise the Battery. Do not leave a charged battery dormant for long periods of time. Once charged, you should at least use the battery at least once every two to three weeks. Also, do not let a Li-On battery completely discharge. (Discharing is only for older batteries with memory effects)

9. Hibernate not standby - Although placing a laptop in standby mode saves some power and you can instantly resume where you left off, it doesn’t save anywhere as much power as the hibernate function does. Hibernating a PC will actually save your PC’s state as it is, and completely shut itself down.

10. Keep operating temperature down - Your laptop operates more efficiently when it’s cooler. Clean out your air vents with a cloth or keyboard cleaner, or refer to some extra tips by LapTopMag.com.

11. Set up and optimize your power options - Go to ‘Power Options’ in your windows control panel and set it up so that power usage is optimized (Select the ‘max battery’ for maximum effect).

12. Don’t multitask - Do one thing at a time when you’re on battery. Rather than working on a spreadsheet, letting your email client run in the background and listening to your latest set of MP3’s, set your mind to one thing only. If you don’t you’ll only drain out your batteries before anything gets completed!

13. Go easy on the PC demands - The more you demand from your PC. Passive activities like email and word processing consume much less power than gaming or playing a DVD. If you’ve got a single battery charge - pick your priorities wisely.

14. Get yourself a more efficient laptop - Laptops are getting more and more efficient in nature to the point where some manufacturers are talking about all day long batteries. Picking up a newer more efficient laptop to replace an aging one is usually a quick fix.

15. Prevent the Memory Effect - If you’re using a very old laptop, you’ll want to prevent the ‘memory effect’ - Keep the battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries (which most laptops have) which do not suffer from the memory effect.

Bonus Tip #1: Turn off the autosave function. MS-Word’s and Excel’s autosave functions are great but because they keep saving regular intervals, they work your hard driver harder than it may have to. If you plan to do this, you may want to turn it back on as the battery runs low. While it saves battery life in the beginning, you will want to make sure your work is saved when your battery dies.

Bonus Tip #2: Lower the graphics use. You can do this by changing the screen resolution and shutting off fancy graphic drivers. Graphics cards (video cards) use as much or more power today as hard disks - Thanks Andrew

Update 7/7/07: Bonus Tip #1 to give caution about turning off autosave, tip #8 to change information about discharging batteries - thanks to all who pointed it out. Added Bonus tip #2, Tip #1 to add in clause in regards to Mac OSX, Tip #1 about the spinning of hard drives - thanks to all who pointed it out.

Thanks
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-12495641671257233742008-08-14T09:40:00.000+07:002008-08-14T09:43:23.893+07:00AMD Launches World’s Fastest Graphics Card− ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2 delivers up to 80 percent more performance than award-winning ATI Radeon™ HD 48702 −

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- August 12, 2008 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the world’s fastest graphics card, the ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2, advancing visual computing ever closer to eye-definition computing gaming and cinematic experiences and delivering a whopping 2.4 teraFLOPS of processing power. It uses the spare capacity in normal telephone lines to transmit data between you and us and back again, whilst the line is used normally for voice calls. The technical wizardry behind ADSL has been available for a few years. We’ve been using it for most of this time and the performance this technology gives is excellent. Now with BT’s co-operation we deliver this service thoughout the country. There are two aspects of ADSL you might wish to understand – How the network works and what happens on your telephone line.

>The Network

(Figure 1) shows your premises (office or home), the BT network, our premises and the Internet. We are part of the Internet so any traffic through us feed onto or from the rest of the Internet – right across the globe. The ADSL service moves data between you and us, over BT’s network. Once you’ve signed up, we enable your account here, the service is installed, and then you log on. From that point the connection between you and us is permanently established. Data flows between us a bit like data flows round any computer network. That is what we mean by "Always On" it is there all the time unless you switch off. If you switch your PC off or there is a power failure or suchlike, you simply get everything working normally and log back on, to resume normal service. With this service you get access to e-mail, all the web sites across the world, and all the usual facilities on the Internet.

(Figure 1)

> The Telephone Line

The obvious question is "How does ADSL work over telephone lines, and what happens to normal voice or fax telephone calls?" Telephone lines operate a bit like a TV cable coming from your aerial, except that information moves in both directions rather than just one way for TV. The TV cable carries signals for all the TV channels which you can watch, of course. You select just one at a time to watch, but the TV still receives all the programmes down the aerial. To provide ADSL service, your telephone line operates similarly to the TV cable. Two of the channels are for normal calls: one for each direction to and from you; and two channels are used for ADSL internet traffic channel, up and down.

 (Figure 2)

Figure 2 shows how the telephone line operates between your business or home, and the local telephone exchange. From there, the ADSL Internet traffic is taken back to us (over special phone lines) and normal telephone calls go out over the telephone network as before. There is no interference between ADSL and normal voice calls, or vice versa. You can use your telephone line for making and receiving telephone calls just as now.

Thank's Source

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-55078066951072374682008-06-15T18:53:00.000+07:002008-06-15T18:59:52.266+07:00Sony Working On A New PS3 Wii-like Controller?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9WEl1GSeQ8hMEbc1WpOlsNCls55bFlNH3JM5SEWIeVdI98DCWbO6Ubq5l_psf9GLFBInnWNQEosp3PAwU-rlfXI1VaRNGJa0BazsVFwJp5E3UjVq9HM19ocuGCMjd2Q2mhjsXLQ/s400/news_18999.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212075643283018626" />
By Max Brenn
10:47, June 15th 2008

According to several news reports, Sony is working to create a new controller for its next-gen gaming platform, PlayStation 3. The big surprise (or maybe not so big) is that the new controller seems inspired by the already famous Wiimote.

The gaming site Gamesindustry.biz reported that the new controller will have the ability to “break apart” in two units, which with its own accelerometer.

Commenting about this rumor, another gaming site, Kotaku, said that is not about a “break apart” controller, but in fact Sony will created a device that can be attached to the gamers’ body.

Kotaku has quoted an unnamed source, who said that the controller will include two or four units, which can be attached to the hands and feet in order to move a character’s body. As you can imagine Sony denied commenting on the rumors.

In April this year, Sony launched in the United State its PlayStation 3's DualShock 3 controller with rumble capabilities. Kazuo Hirai announced the DualShock 3 controller last year at Tokyo Game Show. The controller is compatible with over 100 titles for PlayStation3, but many games will require a patch in order to enact the rumble feature.

Initially, Sony claimed that rumble capabilities are not “next-gen” features, but one of the main reasons for which Sony did not include rumble features into the current SIXAXIS controllers for PlayStation 3 was the patent lawsuit filed by Immersion, which owns the intellectual property over some key aspects of the technology integrated in PS2’s DualShock controllers.

After settling the lawsuit with Immersion in March 2007, Sony was quick to announce DualShock 3 that went on sale in Japan in November last year as a separately sold accessory. The non-rumbling motion-sensing SIXAXIS controller has been discontinued.

Two months ago there were some rumors that Microsoft is also working to develop a Wii-like controller for its Xbox 360.

According to the rumors, the new controller, code-named Newton, will have a design similar to the Wii remote, it will include a four face buttons, an analog stick, a microphone and even a gyroscope sensor that can detect tilt and motion. However, Microsoft also declined to comment about this issue.

A new controller could mean for both gaming consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3, a new method to fight against Nintendo Wii, which is dominating the hardware gaming sales.

For example, according to the latest figures released by the NPD Group, Nintendo Wii has sold 675,100 units compared to 186,600Xbox 360s and 208,700 PlayStation 3s.

© 2007 - 2008 - eFluxMedia

ThanksUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-1169277151058658502007-01-20T13:46:00.001+07:002008-06-20T16:27:37.165+07:00Apple's 'magical' iPhone unveiled

US firm Apple has confirmed its move into the telecoms industry, unveiling the long-awaited iPhone.

Users will be able to download music and videos with the phone, demonstrated by Apple boss Steve Jobs at the annual Macworld Expo in San Francisco.
Mr Jobs praised the phone's design and told the audience the "magical device" would "revolutionise the industry".
The phone, which will cost from $499 (£257) to $599, will be launched in the US in June and Europe later this year.
Apple is not yet saying how much the iPhone will cost in the UK, but using the comparison of a Mac mini computer the 4 gigabyte (GB) model would be about £335.
Also revealed at the Macworld Expo was Apple TV, a device to stream music and movies from a computer to the living room.
'Super-smart'
The announcement ended months of speculation about the iPhone, which has no conventional buttons but instead uses a large touch-screen.
The firm has patented keyboard technology on the 11.6mm thick phone, calling it "multi-touch".
It is essentially a computer with a blank screen that users configure so they can operate the monitor with their fingers.
"We are all born with the ultimate pointing device - our fingers - and iPhone uses them to create the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse," said Mr Jobs.
A full touch keyboard is available for text messaging and there is a built-in two megapixel camera.
Mr Jobs said the iPhone was a "revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone".
"It works like magic... The transaction, valued at US $5.4 billion, is expected to close in Q4 2006 subject to approval by ATI shareholders, court approval, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

SourceUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25297782.post-1153750754686056072006-07-24T20:55:00.000+07:002006-07-24T21:19:14.700+07:00Windows VistaWindows Vista is the name of a major version of Microsoft Windows, a proprietary graphical operating system used on personal computers, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, and media centers. Prior to the announcement of the Vista name on July 22, 2005, it was known by its codename Longhorn, after the Longhorn Saloon, a popular bar in Whistler, British Columbia.[1] As of July 2006, Windows Vista is in beta testing; Microsoft has stated the scheduled release dates for Windows Vista are currently November 2006 for business editions, and January 2007 for consumer editions.[2] These release dates come more than five years after the release of Windows XP, Microsoft's current consumer and business operating system, making it the longest time span between releases of Windows.
According to Microsoft, Windows Vista has hundreds of new features, such as an updated graphical user interface and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print and display sub-systems. Microsoft claims that Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files, password settings, and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista introduces version 3.0 of the .NET Framework, which aims to make it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API. High-end editions of Vista are expected to include Microsoft's Virtual PC, so that previous versions of Windows can be run simultaneously with Windows Vista on the same machine, with a view to running applications incompatible with Windows Vista.
Microsoft's primary stated goal with Vista, however, has been to improve the state of security in the Windows operating system. Amongst the many common criticisms of Windows XP, the most significant has been its commonly exploited security vulnerabilities, and an overall susceptibility to malware, viruses and buffer overflows. In light of this, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates announced in early 2002 a company-wide 'Trustworthy Computing initiative' which aims to incorporate security work into every aspect of software development at the company. Microsoft claimed it prioritized improving the security of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 above finishing Windows Vista, which has significantly delayed its completion.

Thank's to sourceUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
